Taber’s Mini-Golf league Mondays 5:30-7:30

The league will run for seven Mondays (June 29-Aug. 10), and will culminate in the annual Maine Miniature Golf Open on Sunday, August 16.

Drop in each week or join the series long standings!

RULES:

Each week, adults will pay $10 and juniors (12-under) will pay $8 to play two rounds of mini golf. If there are enough players, we may split junior and adult divisions. Any junior may play up to the adult division.

Players will be grouped with two other league players in a blind draw each week, and players will keep each other’s scores.

Weekly scores and season-long standings will be kept and tabulated. Results and cumulative totals will be displayed at the golf shack each week, and scores will be reported to the local newspaper.

There is a cash (or course credit) prize each week that will depend on the number of entries. The winner’s share will always be half the total prize pool. Other places will pay based on the number of entries. You may play in any or all of the weekly events, but to be eligible for end-of-season prizes, you must play in all eight events.

The Maine Miniature Golf Open will be the eighth and final event. Entry is $20 for all participants. Competition will be three rounds (two with your initial, blind-draw group, followed by a re-pair for the final round).

The Maine Miniature Golf Open is also a stand-alone event, with its own prize structure, but rounds will count toward the league championship.

League prizes will be awarded following the Maine Miniature Golf Open, for the tourney and also the season-long champion, runner-up and third-place winner.
Rules of play

Weekly league play will consist of two, back-to-back rounds. Cumulative score from the two rounds will be entered each week. The lowest 36-hole total each week wins.

During league play, each person should play their ball to completion before the next person tees off. This will avoid ricochet shots.

One group of three per hole at any one time, and please maintain social distance as required.

A ball within the long side of a scorecard from a brick or rock hazard may be moved to the length of a scorecard away from the obstacle.

On Hole No. 4, in league play, you may use the water feature to advance your ball, though doing so will result in a stroke penalty. (You may choose to take the penalty at your own risk).

If a ball is unplayable (in wishing well, wedged against rock), move to its closest playable position and count a penalty stroke.

If the ball leaves the putting surface, replace it where it crossed the boundary and count a penalty stroke. This includes hopping the bricks, onto the cement paths or into the water features.

To count as in the hole, the ball must remain in the hole, unless the foam rings cause interference. If that is the case, the ball has to have been judged by the entire playing group as having completely entered the hole.

Maximum score on a hole is 6.
